On a livestream last week via the Toho Animation YouTube Channel, Atsumi Tanezaki (Frieren) announced that Frieren Season 2 will be airing in January 2026.

Toho Animation held the ‘Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: Talk Show Magic’ livestream on March 5, 2025. Following this, voice actors Atsumi Tanezaki (Frieren), Kana Ichinose (Fern) and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Himmel) joined the livestream. They also discussed Frieren Season 1, the official merch, and the best scenes from Season 1.
During the end of the livestream, Atsumi Tanezaki announced the release date for Frieren Season 2, which will be January 2026. Besides the announcement, a teaser trailer and visual featuring Frieren, Stark, and Fern were released.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 1
Season 1 of Frieren was one of the most in-demand anime of 2024. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End competed for the most in-demand anime award alongside heavy hitters like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan.
The Frieren manga is also top 10 in copies sold for 2024 at Around 5 million copies were sold.
Madhouse Inc. will be returning for Season 2. All the voice actors from Season 1 will also be returning:

Are You Excited for Frieren Season 2?
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is one of my favourite anime that has been released recently. The fantasy / adventure genre combo is one of my favourites in anime. I loved The Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina. It’s very similar to Frieren, however Elaina never got a season 2.
