The 8th “Manga We Want to See Animated” AnimeJapan poll is now here! This poll is exactly what the name implies: fans will vote for serialized manga they believe needs an anime adaptation.
The fan-driven poll began voting on January 15, 2025 on their website. The voting period will be from January 15 – February 12, 2025. AnimeJapan will announce the winners sometime in March.
How it Works
This year there are 47 manga you can vote for, keep in mind you can only vote one time for one manga. Some manga have received multiple nominations over the years.
Additionally, take last year’s ‘Manga We Want to See Animated’ AnimeJapan 2024 winner Shinanontinoikuru. It is now placed in their Hall of Fame Manga and cannot be nominated the following years.
The poll has been successful in the past, there are Hall of Fame Manga that have received anime adaptations already such as Komi Can’t Communicate and Senpai is Otokonoko.
However, this is a fan-driven poll, the winner doesn’t get a guaranteed adaptation. But what this poll does is give studios ideas on what fans want to see animated. It may just put enough spotlight onto a manga that a studio will pick it up for an adaptation in the near future.

Some Personal standouts:
- Kindergarten WARS
- Love Bullet
- Gokurakugai
I had two of the three in my top manga to start reading in 2025 article. As mentioned there are 47 nominations this year, and to be honest with you I have not heard of over 80% of these manga. These nominees can be a good source of manga recommendations, for those in need of new manga.
AnimeJapan linked panel samples of each manga so you have an easier time deciding whether the manga is for you or not.
What Manga Do You Want to See Adapted?
The ‘Manga We Want to See Animated’ poll has become a fun yearly event for manga fans. The poll gives studios insight into fan preferences, though it doesn’t guarantee manga adaptations.
For fans, the poll is a fun and engaging way to support their favorite series and help give them the spotlight. It’s also a reminder that the anime community is driven by fan enthusiasm, and events like these help ensure that the anime industry remains connected to its audience’s desires.
