Japanese publishing company Shueisha, has announced the one-shot manga from the Shonen Jump+ platform will be receiving anime adaptations.
Wit Studio, Production I.G and Contrail will each be adapting a different one-shot manga to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of Shonen Jump+.
Shonen Jump+ has published thousands of one-shots since 2014. The platform hosts longer manga serializations like Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family, but it also launches unique and ambitious one-offs that don’t always fit the mold of a traditional weekly series.
One notable success story? Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back, which made huge waves and actually got its own adaptation as well.
It has won multiple awards from different award shows. I consider it to be one of the best anime films in recent times.
Why One-shot Manga?
Personally, I think adapting one-shots makes more sense. It shines a spotlight on the creativity of manga artists, giving them the opportunity to see their more niche, standalone stories reach a wider audience.
These films could open the door for manga artists to land longer serialized projects. Fans may want to see more from these manga artists.
The project is being led by JOEN, a production company formed by CloverWorks, Wit Studio, Aniplex, and Shueisha, which enables animation studios to oversee projects from planning through final execution.
Who knows one of them might be successful, or become a hidden gem in the future.
Shueisha Will Announce the Adaptation Titles Soon
Shueisha will announce the specific one-shot manga chosen for adaptation at a later date. But you can look at the Manga Plus website.
Looking at the Manga Plus website in the ‘one-shots’ category there’s a bunch to choose from. The production company has a variety to choose from. I personally haven’t read any of these one-shots. But if they’re on the website of Manga Plus they must be decent right?
Waiting for the One-shots to be Announced

As fans eagerly await the announcement of which Manga to Anime will be adapted, this special collaboration between Shonen Jump+ and their partner animation studios promises to deliver fresh and compelling stories to the anime world.
Unlike established manga series where fans already have expectations, one-shots offer something completely new. Each one-shot has the potential to be great, all in a compact, standalone format. And with Wit Studio, Production I.G, and Contrail behind the wheel, the animation quality is practically guaranteed to be top-tier.
This initiative also offers a unique opportunity for up-and-coming manga artists. If a one-shot is successful as an anime, it could be the start of something much bigger.
A longer serialization, more projects, or even original anime concepts down the line. It’s a great way to introduce new creative voices to the anime world and give them a shot at the spotlight.
