The concluding chapter to the romance manga My Dress-Up Darling manga finally released last March 21, 2025. Shinichi Fukuda has been publishing My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) on Square Enix’s Young Gangan since 2018, and it’s her most popular manga to date.
Another romance manga comes to an end but another starts soon! Aka Akasaka’s new manga Maerchen Crown.
She announced its conclusion last February 21, 2025 which was shocking to fans. Last month I published an article titled “My Dress Up Darling Ending Is Another Really Big Disappointment”, but now that Chapter 115 is out, is it true?

My Dress-Up Darling Manga Ending: Chapter 115 Review
Final Chapter Summary
The chapter is set in the Gojo household with Grandpa Gojo calling for Wakana. He tells him that Wakana’s TV segment is coming up. We also see wedding pictures of Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa. Telling the audience that some time has passed.
Marin comes home and we find out that she’s a professional model now. As they watch the TV segment, we learn that Wakana took over Gojo Dolls (Grandpa Gojo’s hina doll business) and that he’s a professional now too.
The chapter ends with Marin, Wakana, Grandpa Gojo and Marin’s father eating dinner together and having a great time.
Was the Ending a Disappointment?
In the article I wrote last month, I listed down some potential endings that I thought Shinichi Fukuda could have done. From that article:
- a montage of Gojou and Marin’s relationship ‘milestones’ up until marriage or more.
- the high school graduation ending + they live happily ever after
- a whole chapter of them being older, like a look into their future
The route that Fukuda went was the final bullet point: a whole chapter of Wakana and Marin older. She did a great job with it, with the subtle showing of Marin and Wakana’s wedding and a look into their working lives.
Fans are disappointed not seeing how they got there. We also don’t see what happened to the other characters, they were such an important part of the story as well.
I still think this ending felt rushed. We still don’t know why they cut the series so short, right at the climax. The manga was also doing well with over a ten million copies sold. I saw some rumours online that it was because of Shinichi Fukuda’s health, but I can’t confirm those rumours.

My Dress-Up Darling Manga Special Chapter & Epilogue
On the last page of the chapter Fukuda noted that there will be a special extra chapter and epilogue. Fukuda mentioned no release date.
Hopefully we get to see the other characters in the extra chapter or epilogue. Maybe we get to see Marin and Wakana’s love story and relationship ‘milestones’ in montage-style.
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2
Since the day season 1 ended fans were asking ‘will My Dress-Up Darling get a season 2?’. The anime will be getting its new season sometime in July 2025. CloverWorks will be returning to produce the anime.
