Oshi no Ko Season 3 announced, via their official website, it will be airing in 2026. Included in the announcement was a short trailer and a teaser visual featuring Aqua and Ruby.
The first season adapted manga chapters 1-40, the second season adapted chapters 41-80. So what will Oshi no Ko season 3 cover? This next arc in the manga is titled the ‘mainstay’ arc. This is where the downfall of this amazing story begins unfortunately. If you want to read better manga, in my opinion, check out this article.
Infamous Bad Endings of Aka Akasaka
Ever since the ending of the hit manga Kaguya-sama: Love is War Akasaka has been deemed to be a bad writer when it comes to endings. When Kaguya-sama ended a couple years ago, I quickly saw posts online about how disappointed fans were of the ending.
With his focus solely on Oshi no Ko, you would think that the ending would be great… but that didn’t end up being the case. I’m not saying he’s a bad writer, but Aka Akasaka has had two very popular manga that have had controversial endings. He’s 2 for 2 with bad endings for his popular works.
The Beginning of the Downfall
Oshi no Ko season 3 will be adapting the ‘mainstay’ arc as it’s titled in the manga. There are only four more arcs after this one. So there could possibly be three more seasons of Oshi no Ko, as the last two arcs are short.
This ‘mainstay’ arc overall is pretty good, but there are a few moments here and there that make you scratch your head and wonder ‘really?’. A lot of new information gets revealed, and a lot more drama happens. But if you’ve finished the manga, and you were to re-read this story arc you would notice the beginning of the downfall here.
Does that mean I’m not excited to watch this? To be honest I haven’t watched any of the anime except the 40 minute pilot episode, which I thought was a 10/10. I’m most excited to see the reaction of the anime-only watchers for certain revelations that will be coming in this season.
