2024 had a ton of amazing anime and there’s even better upcoming anime for 2025. Here’s a personal list of the best 2024 anime of the year.
We’re doing two parts to this list. First, this article focuses on the upcoming new seasons of already released anime. Then, the next part will cover completely new anime that are set to release. Do you think these are the best new seasons of 2025?
Upcoming Anime for 2025
Solo Leveling Season 2 – January
The awaited second season is already airing. After Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, fans of the manhwa were awaiting for the second season. There was criticism of the first season by fans online, so let’s see if the second season will be better.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 – January
Here’s an article of the breakdown of the trailer. A new character pops up in the trailer, showcasing the new OP of the season.
My Hero Academia Final Season – October
My Hero Academia had an amazing 2024:
- The seventh season was a success
- My Hero Academia: You’re Next released worldwide in theatres
- The manga finally ended after 431 Chapters which includes an Epilogue
- The WORLD BEST HERO poll was very popular
Then finally fans are awaiting for season 8 which will conclude the anime.
Fire Force Season 3 – April
Another shonen anime that renews for another season. Here’s a bit about Fire Force and the new season in this article.
Return of One Piece Season 21 – April
One Piece was nominated as one of the most in demand anime of 2024. It could most likely get nominated every year. This year Season 21 will be resuming after going on hiatus late last year.
DANDADAN Season 2 – July
I considered DANDADAN Season 1 the best anime of last year. As an up-to-date manga reader, I’m very excited for the next arc. Slight Spoilers The next arc will most likely introduce two major characters in DANDADAN Season 2.
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 – July
Another anime I’m not familiar with. However, this anime does look great.
Dr. Stone FUTURE SCIENCE – January
This will be the fourth season of Dr. Stone. It is already airing alongside Solo Leveling Season 2 and The Apothecary Diaries Season 2.
Wind Breaker Season 2 – April
I’m unfamiliar with Wind Breaker, which is originally a WebToon. The story revolves around schools and delinquents though. I haven’t seen talk about this anime online, but it must be popular to get renewed for a second season.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc – TBA
Probably the most anticipated sequel of the year. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will be the first of a trilogy. Last year Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc aired, and manga readers knew what was coming next. Hopefully Studio Ufotable will be able to release it this year as announced without delays. I’m personally excited for Demon Slayer and DANDADAN. I will mark them on my calendar as soon as the exact date gets announced. Then, later this week, I’ll share the second half of the list. It will focus more on the brand new anime of 2025.
