Re:Zero Season 3 

After four long years the long awaited third installment in the Re:Zero series is here. Personally I have only watched the first season. However, seeing the fan reception to the announcement of the third season might be a reason for me to finally start the rest of the series. 

It takes place one year after the events of season 2. The story continues to follow Subaru and Emilia. 

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister

Another addition to the popular harem genre. If you liked the popular Quintessential Quintuplets, one of the assistants to that manga writes and illustrates this one. I’ve read around 130 chapters of the manga and it does give a similar vibe to the Quintessential story. 

This story follows Uryū, an orphan high school student who aims to pass the entrance exam for Kyoto University. He aims to be a doctor. After living at an orphanage all his life, he then suddenly moves to the Amagami Shrine. 

There he meets three shrine maiden sisters: Yae, Yuna and Asahi. The head priest of the shrine then asks him to marry one of his granddaughters. Thus, feelings start to unfold throughout the story. 

Blue Box

I think this will be the best anime of Fall season 2024. I’ve been following this manga for two years now, and I knew it was just a matter of time until this got an anime adaptation. This will be Top three on everyone’s list for this Fall 2024. 

The story focuses on Taiki Inomata, a member of the badminton varsity team. Every morning, he trains alongside his upperclasswoman and crush Chinatsu Kano, the ace of the women’s basketball team. 

Suddenly, Chinatsu moves in with Taiki and his family when her parents leave Japan. Taiki aims to slowly develop his relationship with Chinatsu now living with him. While they both strive for their goal of going to nationals. 

DAN DA DAN

A hyped manga that hardcore fans have been wanting to see animated. I’ve personally only read a couple chapters of the manga, and I thought that it would be best consumed if it was animated so I never continued. 

The two main characters of the story, Momo and Okarun, believe in ghosts and aliens respectively. But they deny the existence of the other. 

They want to prove that what they believe in exists, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital and sees a UFO, while Okarun goes to a haunted tunnel. He encounters paranormal activity. 

This starts the story of a romantic love story, and weird aliens and spirits. 

Orb: On the Movements of the Earth

I have been meaning to read this manga for a while. It’s only around 60 chapters, but I never got around to it. I might not need to read it as the anime is coming out soon. 

The setting is 15th century Europe, and heretics are being burned alive. Rafal is about to enter university at a young age. He is studying Theology, but he values reason more. Rafal comes to the conclusion that Earth orbits the sun. He flees as the Inquisition comes to punish him with “God’s Justice”. 

10 years later, Oczy and Gras, members of the Watch Guild, find a hidden chest that kept the secrets of the universe the Rafal left behind. What will they do with the texts? Will they become heretics themselves, or sell the texts away? 

Blue Lock Season 2 

The second season of Blue Lock, where the U-20 Japan National Team makes their match debut. 

TsumaSho

One of those stories that is plagued by an awful English translated title. TsumaSho or If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student, is a heartwarming story. The story is an adaptation of the manga with the same name. The title may put you off if you are seeing it for the first time, but trust me it’s a dramatic and wholesome story. 

The story follows Keisuke and his daughter Mai. However, 10 years ago they lost Takae, Keisuke’s beloved wife. Both of them have felt terrible since then, and they have strained their father-daughter relationship.  

But one day, an elementary school student knocks on their front door and rings their doorbell. This little girl claims to be Takae. At first they didn’t believe this little girl.

But as she gives information that only the family would know, they begin to believe that Takae has come back. Thus, this begins their healing process and finally coping with their grief. 

Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

One of the more interesting manga I’ve read. It’s the usual trope of two yakuza families making a truce by offering their single child. But the characters are what make this story so unique. The two main characters are very interesting to say the least. 

Synopsis from my review: Yoshino Somei is a sheltered Yakuza Princess. The granddaughter of the leader of the Somei Group, a crime family in Osaka. They are affiliated with the largest Yakuza group in the Kansai Region.

One day she gets news about a truce between the Somei and their rival. Her grandfather signed a truce with the Tokyo-based Miyama crime family; as a result he offers Yoshino as a truce bride. She tries to annul the arranged marriage but to no avail.

Yoshino visits Tokyo to meet her fiance, Kirishima Miyama, who is surprisingly nice and has some charm to him. But Yoshino can’t let the East-West peace treaty slip away. She gets suckered into it and six months later she now lives with a rival family in Tokyo. She then learns a lot about Kirishima quickly and wonder’s who he truly is.

Dragon Ball DAIMA

I have not watched any recent Dragon Ball, but this caught my eye as it looks like a different type of story. For die hard DB fans this is a must-watch. 

Goku and the rest of the cast become way younger than usual. But to go back to their normal age, they head to a new world. 

Shangrila Frontier Season 2

The second season of Shangri-La Frontier. I watched the first season, and it was surprisingly funny. The world building in this story is great. 

This isekai follows Rakuro, a gamer who only plays ‘trashy’ games. One day the clerk at the video game store tells him to try out a ‘triple A’ game for a change. He purchases Shangri-La Frontier, the best selling VR game. With his bird mask equipped to his character, he uses all his tricks from playing trashy games to breeze through the game. 

Consider Watching The Best Anime for Fall 2024

I highly recommend you watch these anime for the upcoming Fall season. There are way more releases than the ones I’ve listed, this is just my personal list of anime that I will be keeping my eye on.
