Last August 2024, Weekly Shonen Jump started a global popularity poll, called the My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO. This poll started right after the conclusion of the My Hero Academia manga.
Recently, the final volume was released. It came with a new epilogue and a new My Hero Academia manga chapter. You can check out our article on it here.
The My Hero Academia WORLD BEST HERO vote let fans vote for their favorite characters. The poll aimed to find the fans most beloved character in the My Hero Academia series.
The voting period lasted form August 5, 2024 to September 30, 2024. Fans could vote once every 24 hours. Fans who participated in the poll also had a chance to win exclusive My Hero Academia merchandise.
Result of WORLD BEST HERO Poll
1st Place: Katsuki Bakugo (Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight)
2nd Place: Izuku Midoriya (Deku)
3rd Place: Shoto Todoroki (Shoto)
Bakugo had over 1.6 million votes. Deku had 1.2 million votes. Shoto had 630k votes, according to sources.

The top ten will be getting new illustrations by the author and creator Kohei Horikoshi. The official Shonen Jump YouTube channel features a video that shows the Top 100.
Top Three
The top three had a run-off 24 hour character poll to crown the title of THE MHA. This Plus Ultra Stage ended on December 3, 8 PM Japan time. Katsuki Bakugo won the top spot in that poll as well. He will be getting a bronze statue of himself, and a special movie.

About My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia is a popular Japanese manga and anime series created by Kohei Horikoshi. First serialized in 2014, the manga recently concluded.
In addition to the manga, the My Hero Academia anime adaptation is on it’s seventh season. The producers announced an eighth and final season, which will release in 2025.
Synopsis
The story takes place in a world where people commonly have superpowers. People call these superpowers ‘quirks’. We follow Izuku Midoriya, who was born with a quirk and dreams of becoming a superhero one day.
The best hero, All Might, scouts Midoriya. He gives his quirk to Midoriya and helps him enroll him in U.A. High School, a prestigious high school for superhero training.
