The final episode of cour one release date is December 19, 2024 at 8:30 am PT. The episode is going to be a classic anime fireworks festival. As a manga reader, I don’t remember what happened to be honest. It has been a long time since I’ve read this chapter in the manga.
If you enjoy Blue Box for the romance aspect here’s two manga’s receiving adaptations soon: You and I Are Polar Opposites & Kaoru Hana.
This is why I like watching anime adaptations, especially of manga I’ve been reading for a long time. I have horrible memory so it’s like experiencing the story again for the first time. Let’s get into Blue Box episode 10 and 11 recap.
Blue Box Episode 10 “It’s Not a Good Thing”
After the cliffhanger of Episode 9, nothing happened. I think a lot of people expected that nothing would come from that, but it was still a moment. The next day it was surprisingly awkward for the two. It seems like Chinatsu finally developed some type of feelings for Taiki.
When practice ended, the two of them ended up in the equipment shed together and Taiki thanked Chinatsu for taking care of him while he had his fever. She remembers what happened at the end and gets all flustered. The badminton and basketball teams were talking about romance, and someone said that the only way Chinatsu would fall in love with somebody is if they lived together. She got even more flustered.
It’s almost time for summer vacation, however the sports teams will still have to practice. Taiki will still be practicing everyday with the badminton team. While Hina and Chinatsu are competing in an inter-high school competition.
The End of the Episode
Chinatsu and Taiki are walking home from the convenience store. Finally, Chinatsu talks about what happened during the fever episode. She basically rejects Taiki, telling him to forget about what happened. Chinatsu said it’s best if they don’t get romantically involved since they’re living together.
Thoughts on the Episode
This was more of a slice-of-life type of episode. Different from the prefectural qualifiers a couple episodes ago. For anime only watchers: I’m sure you were disappointed that they didn’t kiss. But it wouldn’t have made sense since Chinatsu hasn’t shown interest in Taiki at all yet.
The ending of the episode is definitely the best part. We finally get some drama between the two, and it looks like Taiki might not even get a chance to confess. I get the boundaries Chinatsu is trying to set. She stayed in Japan because of basketball, and it would be wrong to date a guy. Especially a guy that you are living with.
Blue Box Episode 11 “Uncool!”
This episode opens with a group study session including Kyo, Taiki, and Hina. During a break, Taiki and Hina are alone, and they see a flyer for a fireworks festival. They reminisce of a middle school trip where they became friends. When the break is about to finish Hina asks Taiki to go with her to the festival and he agrees. But they couldn’t talk about the details.
Later on in the episode, Taiki asks Hina who else is going. And Hina is disappointed that he thought it was a group thing, not a date. However, Hina answers that she’s still trying to get more people.
When Hina and Taiki are coming back from the storage room, they see Chinatsu with some friends. Taiki suggests they take the longer route back to the gym. Hina sees that Taiki is avoiding Chinatsu, even though he would rather go talk to her. Hina then lashes out at him and leaves. Taiki doesn’t understand why Hina got so upset.
Before the fireworks festival, Haryu invites Taiki to a practice session at a local college. He shows grit and determination during the practice session. Always asking questions, and always trying to answer questions to the best of his ability.
To end the episode off, we see Taiki meeting up with Hina at the fireworks festival. Taiki is surprised by the floral patterned yukata she’s wearing.
Thoughts on the Episode
This was a sad episode for Hina fans. Just when Hina finally made a move on Taiki, he took it the wrong way and thought it was a group thing. But she’s a close friend to Taiki first, that’s why she got mad he was avoiding Chinatsu.
She knows how much he likes her, she even pushes him towards a ‘rival’. That’s how much Hina likes Taiki, she’d put aside her feelings.
